Double AA
An exciting new part of the evening will feature Punjabi Bhangra dancing to close out the night. The dance will be held in the beautiful ROM rotunda and will feature, Double AA as the DJ for the night.
The journey of Double AA and his love of music began at a very young age. His passion for music stems from his upbringing. Being Punjabi, his dad had a vast collection of LP’s, cassettes, and even 8-tracks of traditional Bhangra/Punjabi and also (cheesy) disco. The basement in the house was dedicated to speakers, electronics and his dad’s entire musical collection. This is where DAA spent his early years messing around with gadgets and music.
He has now dj’d for over 15 years at all the major clubs in Toronto, holding residencies at many of the urban hot spots. He has also been on the university circuit playing everywhere from Toronto to Montreal. DAA has held regular rotation on live to air radio on stations such as WBLK 93.7 (Buffalo, NY) and FLOW 93.5 FM (Toronto).
DAA’s journey has taken him full circle. He now primarily concentrates on hosting his own events where he gets to play the type of music he likes. He does this with his Phunk'd line of parties, as well as ‘Luv To Bhang’. Both events cater to niche audiences that have a true appreciation of music. Furthermore he is taking many more steps of going into production. He is refining his skills as a producer and he spends most of his time in his studio dubbed the “The Crate”.
